Gwangju To Your Room

My birthday was yesterday October 7th. I’ll be honest, it sucked. Ever since my last birthday back in 2008 and 2009, I have been sad on this day. In 2008 I had all of my friends and had a small house party… even though it ended up being a horrible night in the end (21st birthday), I still loved being surrounded by friends.

In 2009, I was in Korea and my ex through a Mexican party for me. It was a lot of fun. Little did I know the guy she was fucking on the side was there, but oh well, it was still fun. 

2010 my birthday consisted of getting hammered and being depressed.

This year was strange. I’m with my love, Aileen, and it’s great, yet I’m still kind of depressed. My work gave me a cupcake and a card. My parents called and my Facebook got the usual number of “happy birthdays.” 

It doesn’t feel special any more. I tried so hard to make Aileen’s birthday a blast. In a sense, our get-away weekend was for both of our birthdays. Her birthday was September 27th. 

We saw Cirque du Soleil in Orlando, had dinner and drinks at the House of Blues in downtown Disney. We enjoyed the day at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. We also headed down to Tampa for a chance to meet my parents and dinner for our birthdays. I had a blast that weekend. I guess the actual birthday itself was nothing fantastic. I had to work, starting at 8:20 for a manager’s meeting. I sold a car and left work at 7:15. I picked up Aileen and we watched some TV and a movie at the house. We fell asleep and I took her home when we woke up. 

I just feel sad. I miss my friends. 

I love my girlfriend and I appreciate her. She made me a cake! I’m just feeling lost these past few days.
